To give students a better understanding of how the world works, Yew Chung International School of Shanghai's curriculum ensures a breadth of science classes. Through every level of secondary schooling, students can develop thinking and communication skills through the use of the scientific method. Equipped with scientific understanding, the power of reason and the ability to prove, students can lead a life of learning.

In Years 7 to 11 the school follows a spiral curriculum in all sciences, ensuring a breadth of academic preparation that will form the basis for future study. These years are divided into two stages:

Years 7 to 9 follows Key Stage 3 of the National Curriculum for England.

Years 10 and 11 prepares students for the IGCSE examinations in Coordinated Science.
