The programme is a well established and a practical expression of Yew Chung's vision of preparing students to participate effectively in the new global society, a world characterised by cross-cultural interaction, dynamic change and global interdependence. Students develop the cultural knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become true global citizens.
World Classroom, open to students from Years 7 to 10, is an educational experience allowing students to experience firsthand the major cultures of the world. Depending on the class Year, students will focus on a different world culture. They learn about the culture in class then travel to a destination to experience the culture in real life situations. Community services are included on the trips to give students meaningful encounters with diverse cultures, for example, building a new school in Tanzania or re-building homes in Thailand.
In the past, Yew Chung students have enriched their life experiences by traveling to Orlando, Maui and Oahu, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Turkey, Jordan, Ethiopia and many more exciting destinations.
