YCIS Shanghai offers IGCSE classes in Art and Design to Year 10 and 11 students.
This rigorous two-year programme helps students gain an understanding of art history, art criticism and provides them a firm foundation in studio art practice.
The school offers IB Art classes to Year 12 and 13 students. After completing the IGCSE or submitting a comprehensive portfolio of work, students are admitted to this internationally recognised programme. Throughout the two years of this programme, students will build a portfolio of studio work suitable for submitting to any post-secondary art institution. In-depth research into art history and contemporary art practice will be integrated into their studio work. And at the end of their second year, students can proudly show off their work as art installations around the school. All works are then evaluated by an international examiner.
At YCIS Shanghai, students are able to experience the joy of creating art while gaining a deep understanding of world cultures and history through art.
