Rev. Samuel Choy possesses extensive background and experience in theology and related pastoral services. He graduated with a Master Degree in Biblical Literature from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in the United States. During the years he undertook various post-graduate studies in pastoral counselling and psychology and family therapy. He was also involved in pre-doctoral studies in Research Methodology and Theological Language from Harvard Divinity School of Harvard University. In 2000, he took part in a Doctoral research in Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University in Australia.
Over the years, Rev. Choy participated in pastoral related services in various schools and churches. He was a Music Director and Pastoral Leader in Vancouver Chinese Pentecostal Church from 1981 to 1983, a lecturer in Ecclesia Bible College and a guest lecturer at Baptist College in Hong Kong. He was involved in various assemblies and congregation in Hong Kong, Australia and the United States from the late 1980s to early 1990s.
Rev. Choy is an outstanding performer and an active participant in numerous Christian and charitable communities. He performed Acapella in 60 Christian concerts in the British Columbia area in the early 1980s. In 1989, he was invited to perform as vocal soloist before the Prime Minister of Bulgaria. In 2008 he performed with the Vienna Boys’ choir at the “Musikverein” in Vienna and at the “Mozarteum” in Salzburg, Austria.
Rev Choy has made speeches at churches and conferences in 13 countries, and performed in 93 cities around the world. Furthermore, He was invited as a keynote speaker in the Korean Christian Beauticians National Conference & Hallelujah Presbyterian Church in Seoul, Korea and the National Conference for Protestant Charismatic Movement in Singapore and Malaysia in 1985 and 1987 respectively.
