Cindy, Year 12, Gubei Campus
Recently, the Year 12 students went on an IB retreat to Sun Island. The retreat was very informative and enjoyable at the same time. When we first arrived in Sun Island, we had a presentation that gave us an introduction to IB. Later on, we had a presentation from Ms Rogge, our school counsellor, who emphasised that whenever we needed emotional help or support, we should seek help from our friends, family, or from her. She also said that we are not alone and that there are many other people who have been through the IB, and that there are definitely people who are willing to support and help us through the two years, which was comforting.

Over the past 11 years, YCIS has given me so many things to be thankful for. Lifelong friends, caring teachers, and a global education are all part of my experience as a YCIS student. I have times when I take these special opportunities for granted, forgetting that my experiences here are unique and wonderful.

Zhiying, Year 8, Gubei Campus
First of all, I have to thank all of our teachers for taking us on our awesome Education Outside the Classroom trip to Moganshan. About EOTC, my first impression was that it was amazing! Before going there, of course, I felt a little sad leaving my family and own home for a week. But once I got there and experienced a lot of different things I felt very independent and more like an adult.

Because international schools have students from all over the world, it gives us, as students, the opportunity to be introduced to many different cultures and traditions. At YCIS, we celebrate various festivals, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Diwali, and Chinese New Year, and these celebrations are the doorways to the numerous cultures represented at our school.
