For me, YCIS is a unique international school because of the exceptional Chinese education. When I first came to YCIS, I had little-to-no knowledge of Chinese which made it difficult for me in Shanghai. But after a year or two, I was able to speak everyday conversational Chinese fluently.

I also enjoy this style of education because I learn so much. It allows me to get a lot out of my lessons, while still having fun along the way. Prior to my time in Shanghai, I was learning Chinese in Hong Kong, but not with very good progress. I believe that the unique education at YCIS satisfies the needs of many people with many different learning styles.

Another major reason I like this school so much is because of all of the different personalities I see every day. They really put a smile on my face. Of all of the international schools I’ve attended, I have never seen teachers who have so much enthusiasm and fun teaching. I believe that when learning something, the teacher’s attitude towards teaching is a key factor. And I’ve never seen more spirit than here!

But most of all, I’m proud to go to YCIS because of my friends. They are the main reason I love going to school.

I am eager to go to school day-after-day. I am happy that I’m at YCIS because this school gives us a unique learning environment. I am happy that I’m at YCIS because of the bright and fun teachers that keep our learning interesting. I’m happy at YCIS, because the school has showed me I can help make the world a better place.
