Now that we are back in busy Shanghai, I can’t help but look back on the amazing trip to Thailand our Year 12 class just returned from. Our days were jam-packed with fantastic activities planned all over the beautiful city of Chiang Mai, and the learning never stopped.

Travelling to a new country with a group of people whom you’ve grown so close with over the length of the IB diploma programme opens so many doors. Being treated as adults gave us the insight into what it really may be like when we finally do leave home for universities. We also did many activities where we worked collaboratively in order to have a realistic chance of finishing the task in the time allocated. It’s amazing what can be done when everyone helps out!

Thailand is renowned for its rich culture and cuisine, and the food was something my classmates and I were thrilled to taste. Simple things, such as learning a few words of Thai to be able to communicate, also made the trip memorable.

Last, the eco-friendly habits introduced to us throughout the trip will be forever useful in teaching us how to keep a sustainable environment for futures to come, and also helped make the trip one that we will never forget.
