Yew Chung International School of Shanghai Lingang (YCIS Lingang) is located on the shore of the beautiful East China Sea, beside the landmark artificial freshwater Dishui Lake in Pudong New District of Shanghai. The Lingang New Area will be developed into an innovation hub for education and industry in Shanghai. YCYW Education Network was delighted to be invited to open the first international school for children of foreign personnel in the area in Autumn 2022.

The school facilities will be very modern and innovative. The building will contain flexible learning spaces in line with our Learning Community model, enabling students to collaborate and maximise their learning opportunities. The new YCIS is located across the road from the Yew Wah school located in Lingang, meaning there will be opportunities for our students to make use of the exceptional facilities there, such as the theatre and sports field; and the gymnasium and swimming pool currently being built.

Students starting at the new school can expect all the distinctive aspects of a YCIS education including our unique ECE model, bilingual programme, character education, violin and service learning. The students will be able to make use of the rooftop garden and brand new play equipment and spaces. In addition, we will be able to make good use of the nearby Di Shui Lake, Ocean Park, Planetarium, museums and the many outdoor opportunities bringing the students closer to nature.

Shared YCYW facilities include the theatre and sports field, while the gymnasium and swimming pool are currently under construction.

Mr Damien Hehir and Ms Mary Yu will be the founding Co-Principals of the newest YCIS school in the YCYW Education Network and bring a wealth of leadership and organisation experience to this brand new school in Lingang.
