Rrroarrr! The little “cubs” at YCIS Shanghai Hongqiao Campus--Early Childhood and Primary Students--were entertained by a troupe of Lion Dancers as a prelude to the weekend’s Chinese New Year Lantern Festival. The dancers paraded in their costume, performed high jumps, and played drums for the students.
The performance also turned out to be a great opportunity for students to experience learning about Chinese culture firsthand. After the performance, several students, who spoke with performers, were invited to pick up the costume pieces and drumsticks for their own rendition of the dance! A great hands-on learning experience, and a nice way to wrap up the Chinese New Year celebrations at YCIS Shanghai!
