    • The Maker Faire is the world’s largest family festival of invention and creativity, celebrating science, technology, engineering, arts, crafts and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset. It is a gathering of tech enthusiasts, educators, schools, universities, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, inventors, artists, students and exhibitors.

From May 27 to 28, YCIS Shanghai participated in the Maker Faire as an exhibitor. With the theme of ‘Prehistoric to Future’, YCIS showcased a number of exciting STEAM projects designed or created by students and teachers from different year levels. From VEX robotics to badge making, from dinosaur plaster to VR experiences, from beebot programming robots to 3D printing ... we hoped that parents and children who came to our booth would enjoy wandering through the infinite world of science, technology, engineering, and art. We were delighted to find that despite the high temperatures on the day, participants were still very enthusiastic and eager to try out the different projects.

Participation in events such as the Maker Faire weekend exhibit our students’ skills as critical thinkers who can adapt the lessons from their classroom and deliver their knowledge to the Shanghai community. At YCIS, we are always delighted to see our students’ great accomplishments in STEAM.
