Application Process & Timeline
For the August 2019 entry, YCIS will accept applications starting September 1, 2018. While there is no application deadline, we highly recommend that you submit your application no later than December 2018 as spaces are limited in many year levels. Application decisions will be communicated to families by email starting spring 2019. Interviews/assessments will be scheduled as needed during the review process.
Applications for the current school year are received on a rolling basis and subject to space availability. Please contact the Admissions team if you are interested in an earlier entry.
Step 1: Complete and Submit the Online Application Form
Submit the online application form, upload the required supporting documents as outlined on the Application Checklist, and pay the non-refundable application fee of RMB 2,000. Receipt of your completed application package will be confirmed by the Admissions team.
Step 2: Assessments and Interviews
Depending on the applied year level, the application process may include student/family interviews, written placement tests, external assessment, and/or online evaluations. The specific requirements for each applying family will be communicated at the onset of the application review.
Step 3: Application Review and Decision Notification
An application decision will be emailed to you after the completion of the review process. Applicants will receive one of the three following decision letters:
Successful applicants will receive an Offer of Placement letter specifying year level and programme placement. To secure the place, parents must sign and return the Offer letter and pay the RMB 20,000 deposit by the due date stated on the invoice.
Year level-specific waiting pools are created when we have reached capacity. Applicants receiving a waiting pool decision will be contacted if/when a space becomes available. Waiting pool decisions are valid only for the school year of application and will not be carried over to future school years.
Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email, and the application will be closed. Applicants are welcome to reapply for a future school year.
