    • Over the summer, extensive building improvements were conducted across YCIS Shanghai’s campuses to create an even more nurturing learning environment for the students. Some of the renovations included new windows to improve natural light, increasing handicap accessibility, and re-surfacing of the basketball courts. In addition to the routine improvements and upgrades that took place around YCIS school grounds, the Hongqiao Campus unveiled a brand new building for Primary students. The new building features an expansive library, a bright new art room with a separate kiln room, a spacious new cafeteria with brand-new equipment that will provide students with a larger variety of healthy foods, and Primary classrooms that feature the latest in technology via Smartboards and iMac computers.

Just as the building improvements provide a “fresh look” for the school buildings, so too does YCIS provide a “fresh look” at international education. The YCIS philosophy and approach to education begins with what goes on inside the student. YCIS combines the best of East and West to synthesise a truly international curriculum for its students, rooted in bilingual education, in a multicultural setting. This holistic approach to education has earned YCIS recognition internationally, by such esteemed education centres as Cambridge, and trusted opinion leaders like Reader’s Digest.
