    • YCIS Shanghai’s Gubei Campus Secondary students recently made an impression on audiences with their back-to-back, sold out performances of The Miracle Worker. Featuring two sisters in the leading roles, Millie (Year 10) played Helen Keller, and Isabelle (Year 13) played Annie Sullivan, sharing the amazing, true story of how Annie Sullivan taught Helen Keller (rendered blind and deaf in her infancy from a terrible illness) to communicate. The talented cast brought an emotional reality to the piece that touched all of those in attendance. Mr Robert Dil, Director of the play, and a Performing Arts/Drama and IB Theatre Teacher at YCIS, praised the students, saying, “With an ensemble cast of twenty onstage and an equally passionate team of students and teachers backstage, this tender portrayal will stay in our hearts and inspire each of us to do the best we can with the opportunities we have in life.”
