    • School has started and so have fall athletic teams! In fact, both SISAC and CISSA sports seasons have officially commenced, and so far, YCIS Shanghai has created serious competition for the other international schools in sports including volleyball, tennis, cross country, swimming, and touch rugby. The Century Park Campus recently represented YCIS well and won against both the Shanghai American School and Dulwich College Shanghai in touch rugby and volleyball.

The start of the sports season also comes with exciting additions! For the first time, Century Park Campus students will be able to participate in a provisionary ACAMIS league with six other international schools across China. This will allow students to play in several games outside Shanghai, including a volleyball tournament in Chengdu, and a basketball tournament in Guangzhou. The school will also be hosting their own ACAMIS soccer tournament at the Century Park Campus this April.

Mr Dale Mills, Head of PE at the Century Park Campus, is enthusiastic about the new season, as well as the school’s preliminary participation in the ACAMIS division. He says, “We have a great deal of interest from our students this year for our sports teams, and we have dedicated and talented coaches who are leading our teams. In addition to what we having done in previous years, we are looking forward to this additional participation in ACAMIS, and to having the opportunity to travel throughout China. I believe we will emerge successfully in the ACAMIS tournament this year, and it will provide our students with a great sense of school spirit to take with them as they travel throughout China.”

YCIS offers a wide-range of sports and co-curricular activities for students after school. To find out more about these co-curricular activities, click here.
