    • Founder’s Day is an exciting event every year for the entire YCIS network, and this year on October 9, all YCIS schools worldwide spent the day remembering and celebrating the school’s Founder, Madam Tsang Chor-hang, as well as the 83 years of progressive and international education that YCIS has provided.

In the morning, all students and staff tuned into a live virtual broadcast from all YCIS locations worldwide. This year, the annual broadcast included an inspiring speech from Dr Betty Chan, YCIS’s Director and School Supervisor and the daughter of Madam Tsang. Dr Chan addressed the audience on the impact YCIS has made globally, and expressed the school’s continued mission to remain at the forefront of progressive education. The broadcast also included a live feed from each YCIS location in mainland China and Hong Kong. For this year’s Founder's Day, at the Century Park Campus two Secondary students represented the YCIS Shanghai campuses proudly as they introduced the activities to be held at each campus during the day.

In the afternoon, all YCIS campuses in Shanghai participated in a variety of fun games and sports, including dodgeball, “capture the flag”, running races, dancing, basketball, and a staff-versus-students football game. The students also enjoyed the fantastic weather and held picnic-style lunches on the campus sports fields. Although activities varied by campus, all students were able to show their school spirit and enjoy their school community.
