    • Last week, Year 5 and 6 students from the Yew Chung International School of Shanghai Hongqiao Campus, in conjunction with the Primary Senior Choir, “set sail” and performed a two-night production of Pirates of the Curry Bean.

The musical is a “swashbuckling” adventure set on the high seas, and was complete with animated pirates and sailors, dramatic talent, hilarious lines, and memorable tunes.

As part of the school’s robust Co-Curricular Programme (CCP), the YCIS students had been practising since the beginning of the school year in September to successfully perform the musical. Several Secondary students from the Gubei Campus even lent a hand to their younger classmates for the production by acting as stage managers, ensuring that the set and all props were in order. Overall, the incredibly entertaining production impressed and delighted the audiences of the students’ peers, families, teachers, and friends.

YCIS’s many drama productions are successful due to the hard work and enthusiasm of the school’s Co-curricular activities co-ordinators and participants. To learn more about Co-curricular activities at the school, click here.
