Recently, Year 13 students from YCIS’s Gubei Campus held an opening night celebration for the gallery showcase of their work in Visual Art and Design & Technology (D&T). The gallery exhibition, located within the Changning Library in Puxi, was a stunning culmination of the students’ two-years of study in the IB programme at the international school in Shanghai.
In previous years, the annual showcase focused solely on the coursework of the IB art students. However, this year, YCIS also featured IB D&T work in the exhibition, as this subject also involves a great amount of creative and critical-thinking skills. As a result, the gallery was a beautiful and innovative mix of materials, aesthetics, and thought-processes, demonstrating the immense talent and abilities of the Secondary students in the IB programme. Following the opening night event, the exhibition was open to the public for a full week for visitors to admire the Secondary students’ artistry and hard work.
In Years 12 and 13, all students at YCIS Shanghai participate in the IB Diploma Programme, gaining a wealth of experience that helps prepare them for success in the increasingly globalised future. To learn more about the programme, please click here.
