    • New parents were recently welcomed to the YCIS school community with “Welcome Tea” events. During the gatherings, families were able learn more about the parent community and get to know the Co-Principals, Senior Leadership Team members, Parent Relations staff, and Parent Organisation representatives on a more personal level.

Organised by the Parent Organisations of Puxi and Pudong (POP), the morning get-togethers provided parents with valuable information about the school and its community, as well as the opportunity to find out more about various Shanghai-based services.

The YCIS Senior Leadership Team at each campus began the event by introducing themselves and highlighting aspects of the various programmes and activities available for students. POP representatives then followed, sharing about the different ways POP contributes to the YCIS community, including a wide range of events and workshops for parents, as well as providing ongoing support for families.

Vendors from around Shanghai were also present at the event to offer information about useful services for families, such as medical and dental clinics, and community and children’s activity providers.

While enjoying coffee and a range of delicious treats, new parents then had the opportunity to chat with each other, POP committee representatives, vendors, and members of the academic leadership team.

Throughout the year, POP acts as a support network for families, helping them settle into Shanghai life and make new friends. The “Welcome Tea” events are just one of many activities organised for the parent community. To learn more about POP, and to find out more about how to get involved, please click here.
