    • YCIS Puxi was delighted to recently welcome 15 students who visited all the way from our sister school, YCIS Silicon Valley in the US, while on a ten-day tour of China.

YCIS Silicon Valley opened in California in 2002, and as the first YCIS school in the United States, it continues to grow as a learning community dedicated to implementing the vision of a Yew Chung global education within the American learning environment.

The trip served as an immersion experience in China for the middle school students, aged between 11-13, accompanied by teachers from their school. The group spent nine days at our other sister-school, Tongxiang Yew Wah International Education School.

Connecting East and West, the students stayed in the Yew Wah dormitories in Tongxiang and experienced daily school life in China. They made friends, participated in classes, enjoyed the Yew Chung and Yew Wah Founder’s Day celebration, and visited markets and other sights in and around the city. Then, the day before heading back to California, they came to YCIS Puxi and were warmly greeted by students and teachers who showed them around the school, welcomed them into their lessons, and talked about all the similarities and differences between life in Shanghai and in the US.

The trip was a truly fantastic intercultural opportunity for all involved, and a chance to further celebrate the Yew Chung spirit of togetherness, sharing, and community!
