    • On September 20, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Lingang Special Area, and Director of Lingang Special Area Administration Mr Jinshan Chen led a delegation through the Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Primary campuses of YCIS Shanghai to review the school's operations. Accompanying Mr Chen was Member of the Party Working Committee of Lingang Special Area and Deputy Director of Lingang Special Area Administration Mr Miao Ting, officials from the Administrative Committee Office and Social Development Department, representatives of Yew Chung Yew Wah Education Network (YCYW), and the YCIS Shanghai Leadership Team.

In 2015 YCIS’s sister school Yew Wah International Education School of Shanghai Lingang was unveiled in the new area. We are thrilled to add another YCYW school to this innovative zone with YCIS of Shanghai Lingang, scheduled to welcome new families within the year. Keeping with the momentum of the 14th Five-Year Plan, YCYW committed to promoting the dual advancement of Yew Chung and Yew Wah and its full-through education for children aged 2 - 18.

Back at YCIS Shanghai, Mr Chen toured the ECE campus, gymnasium, classrooms, and other facilities on the Primary levels, and listened to a detailed presentation on the history of YCIS schools in China, its values and characteristics, educational philosophy, school achievements, and reputation within the community and internationally.

Mr Chen pointed out that Lingang Special Area is part of a major national strategy. Under the guidance of Xi’s "Five Important Targets", Lingang Special Area is aimed to become a modern, ecological, convenient, dynamic, and independent coastal city. Over the past three years, Lingang has made rapid progress in industries such as intelligent vehicles, integrated circuits, high-end equipment, and biomedicine, attracting many international talents and becoming a benchmark for smart cities. In the future, the new area will focus on optimising high-quality urban infrastructure, providing competitive and modern learning and growth opportunities for various types of talents in the new area, and turning the reputable education hub into a strong attraction for the development of the new city.
