When I was a child, I had a fond interest in anything and everything related to music. I remember my dad used to play songs on the speakers at home while he worked, and then he would stand up, take my hands, and we'd twirl around singing the songs as loud as we could – everything from Jethro Tull to the Beatles. As a piano student for more than seven years, as long as I could remember, music was the one thing that always gave me joy no matter what, but I didn't realise just how much of that pleasure I was still missing out on until I came to YCIS.

In my Primary years, I joined a variety of musical related extracurricular activities, which allowed me to explore my musical talent, and to unleash my energy in a positive way. When I was in Year 4, every week our music teacher would encourage all of us to sing some light-hearted songs. I was so grateful, because this school offered me the chance to do what I loved most. I didn't fully explore my musical abilities until I reached Secondary, where I auditioned for a musical competition and was informed that I was quite satisfactory in the art of vocalising melodically, thus beginning my so-called “musical career”. Since that day, I have been offered so many chances to showcase my ability by myself and with many other incredibly talented individuals. And, quite frankly, nothing gives me more happiness then knowing that I've given my best and sung my heart out. Over time, the stage has become my safety zone, where I feel impenetrable, and YCIS has been helping me build this from the very start.
