The performing arts are all about passion and self-expression. This is a universal language which we can all speak, and one in which I find myself “fluent”. Being a part of the performing arts has been an emotional journey of self-discovery for me. Through every production, monologue, and even written tasks, I learn something new about myself. Participating in the performing arts has molded me and shaped my growth in ways no other subject has. It has helped me build my confidence and become surer of my own identity, as well as my role in both my community and society. It has provided me with the perfect platform and numerous opportunities to shine as a performer, and to learn from experience.

Based on my experience, this has also really been an outlet for me. It has given me the chance to escape reality and step into the world of a particular character instead. This sense of exploration is a miraculous journey only a performer can understand, and I am proud to call myself by that name.

There is a definite amount of love I hold for the performing arts. It has been, and continues to be, a part of my everyday life. One can never really explain the significance of the impact the arts can make on another’s life, but I sincerely believe that the feeling of being a part of something special is one that is truly priceless.
