Being a student at an international school is definitely interesting. As an international school student at YCIS, I am exposed to so many different cultures and I learn something new and cool about these cultures every day. It has also made me more sensitive toward people's traditions and beliefs. As a Nigerian student studying in China, I can say that I have certainly been given a chance to explore a different aspect of life in this part of the world.

As for the benefits of schooling at YCIS, there are plenty. For one, YCIS offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities. This has made my time here very interesting because there are always new things for me to try. The atmosphere at YCIS is such that even when I'm not in class, I am always learning something new. It may be a story, or even a new joke, but one thing is for sure, the quality of my ice-breakers has significantly improved!

One of the best things about YCIS is that there are plenty of opportunities to represent my country. I believe that it is very important for people to be in touch with their culture and traditions even when they are not in their home country. YCIS has occasions where we are encouraged to dress in the traditional attire of our country and it's always interesting to see all the different traditional outfits together.

I would say that attending an international school in Shanghai has taught me things I will never forget, gives me an opportunity to meet people who I believe I will, be friends with for the rest of my life, and has genuinely made me a better person. Going to YCIS is one of the best things I've had the pleasure to experience and I will cherish this period in my life for a long time to come.
