YCIS is an international school well known for its education, sports, clubs and activities, and musical events. Although all aspects are well recognised, sports is an area where the school has made some particularly outstanding achievements.

YCIS offers a variety of sports for all students. When certain sports seasons arrive, people with similar interests gather around, providing students with opportunities to meet and communicate with new people. Participating in sports eliminates barriers like age, gender, and nationality. Students from all over the world unite as a team, sharing similar goals. Although try-outs can be tough, they develop students’ confidence and their competitive spirit. Sports not only allow students to enhance their physical health, but also contributes positively to their mental health.

I’ve been on the school Division 1 football team for over two years. We’ve always had a strong team. We learned to work as a team, playing the game simply, but effectively. Unlike other schools, our team had precise tactics and formations. Because of this, we have always been able to play our game no matter how strong the opposition was.

After my first year on the football team we lost some key players. At first, I didn't really know what to expect from the next year’s squad. Although we were a bit out of shape when we started, we managed to work together well by the end of the season. The results for both seasons were marvelous. In my first year, YCIS came second, and in my second year, we became ACAMIS champions. Our team goal this year is to continue on with our success and become the ACAMIS Champions once more with our new coach, Mr Slade.
