    • IB students at YCIS Shanghai have 100 per cent pass rate for the full diploma this year. About the results, Daun Yorke, the IB Co-ordinator remarked, “I am over the moon about the IB results; it has been a tremendous year for our students! Of the 41 students who sat the full diploma, 41 passed. This 100 per cent pass record is a fantastic achievement, and it is a celebratory day for everyone.”

The average score earned by our IB Diploma students was 35 points, a great result not only in and of itself, but especially when compared to the world average result of 30 points in recent years. Out of the IB Diploma students, 17 per cent scored 40 points or above with our top student this year attaining 44 points out of the maximum 45 points that can be awarded. This also included a maximum “7” score for English at the higher level.

Our students also attained remarkable results in Theory of Knowledge (TOK) with several As for the essay section by two of our students. A record 18 students scored B or above in TOK. On top of these fantastic results, we also have a record number of As and Bs for the Extended Essays across all subjects. For the Extended Essay we received 11 As and 22 Bs with seven students earning the full “3” possible points for TOK and the Extended Essay.

This is another huge record for YCIS Shanghai and something that we can all collectively be proud of.
