    • It has been a phenomenal year for senior sports at YCIS Shanghai. Achievements include six league titles, three ACAMIS (Association of China and Mongolia International Schools) championships and the school’s first time as host to ACAMIS tournament in basketball.

These milestones were just part of the celebrations at the annual Sports Dinner Awards held in April, as the main purpose of the evening was to acknowledge graduating athletes and other senior sports people for their personal achievements, improvements, and contributions to a strong performance by YCIS Shanghai in the international school circuit.

Long time Puxi Campus Head of Physical Education Ray Kentish is proud of how the year unfolded, “A big thank you to all the coaches and students who made this a very memorable and successful year. We look forward to next year’s challenges!” Likewise, Pudong Campus Head of Physical Education Rick Rolls has nothing but praise for the skills and sportsmanship at the growing Pudong Campus.  “(This year was) the first time we have ever had a SISAC (Shanghai International Schools Athletic Conference) badminton team. Our students won the mixed doubles, lost a very close match in the Men’s Singles Final, and demonstrated persistence in the Men’s Doubles.”

Even with the end of school in sight, the Pudong Campus is gearing up for the rugby season starting with after-school practices this month. We anticipate another great year of improvement and achievement.
