    • The tradition of aligning with love and charity at YCIS is given a fresh goal in March 2011 to build schools in needy areas in China, one school annually in every province or city where there is a YCIS campus.

Students and staff at all year levels and from all four YCIS Shanghai campuses rallied behind the cause. ECE students at Regency Park Campus have made their first contribution to the Seeds of Hope project through the ECE Art Show, which turned an explosion of colour and sparkle into an art gallery to be proud of. Primary students at Hongqiao Campus experienced the joys of giving during Charity Week, the highlight of which was indisputably Carnival Day. Secondary students at Gubei Campus held a “Sports” Dress Day and hosted a teacher vs. student football match to round out the day’s theme, and Secondary students at Century Park Campus will conclude the year’s fundraising activities with an End-of-Year Disco.

The real success of all these events could not be captured by the amount raised, but rather it was the combined value of the students’ appreciation of charity as serving those in need, the celebration of the students’ success, and the kind generosity of YCIS Shanghai families in their donations that truly capture the spirit of this charity project.

Fundraising activities for Seeds of Hope will continue when the new school year begins in August.
