YCIS Shanghai Secondary Students at the school’s Gubei Campus sang and danced the night away—four nights actually—for their musical performance of Footloose.
The well-known musical tells the story of a big city boy trying to find his way in a small town with different customs and a very different culture. Accustomed to the energy and excitement of Chicago, the hero of the story sings his song to everyone who will listen until he gets enough support and eventually has the whole town dancing!
Students in an international school setting might sometimes feel as the main character did when adjusting to a new city and culture, but the YCIS students who took the stage showed just how positive their experience had been, providing them with great opportunities not only academically, but also in music and theatre.
Under the experienced and professional guidance of the Head of Performing Arts Sally Davis, these wonderful YCIS students showed everyone how to remain comfortable in a new environment and how to cut loose…FOOTLOOSE!
