    • The fifth gathering of the China Chapter of the Alliance for International Education (AIE) took place in Shanghai on October 24-25 at YCIS Shanghai’s Regency Park Campus.

This year, the theme of the conference was “Engaging with Difference – Finding Ways Forward”, providing an excellent platform for a meaningful discussion on international education in China over the two days. In addition to the excellent keynote from Mr Yin Houqing, Vice President of the Shanghai Society of Education, interactive breakout sessions addressed a range of topics including educational changes and challenges transforming learning and teaching spaces, collaborative learning, the increasing role of technology in the classroom, professional development for teachers, and developing global citizenship.

This year, several key members of YCIS’s leadership played an integral role in the conference, including Mr Norm Dean, Deputy Director of Yew Chung Education Foundation (YCEF) and the Deputy Director and Treasurer of AIE, who provided both the opening and closing remarks. Dr Betty Chan, YCIS Director and School Supervisor, and Dr Lydia Chan, YCIS Assistant Director and Assistant School Supervisor, were also in attendance at the conference. Additionally, numerous YCIS educators led various breakout sessions, and several YCIS Secondary students participated on a panel in a “Youth Forum”.
