    • YCIS Shanghai is committed to providing its students with world-class experiences, both inside and outside of the classroom, and in a range of subjects and interests, including athletics. Before the close of the 2015/16 school year, YCIS’s Gubei Campus held a very special clinic with the U.S. Pac-12 Women’s Volleyball All-Star team in collaboration with ActiveKidz, a community-based organisation in Shanghai.

During the clinic, the Pac-12 student athletes and coaches from top universities in the US guided YCIS students in a series of drills to further hone their skills and technique in hitting, setting, passing, and communicating with other team members. In total, more than 25 YCIS Secondary volleyball players had the opportunity to learn directly from the extraordinary athletes.

Following the active, hands-on workshop, the players, coaches, and clinic participants sat down for a Q&A session. The all-stars shared sage advice about their experience in high school and college athletics and how they manage to balance a healthy lifestyle with their intense training. The YCIS high school volleyball players left with new insights about life as a collegiate athlete as well as tips on how they can continue to improve their performance on the court.
