    • Secondary students at YCIS were treated to a very special visit this month by former YCIS Gubei Campus student, Mr. Ross Jennings. Jennings is currently a ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ holder, and is embarking on a world tour with the goal of playing the bagpipes in every single country.

During his visit, Jennings played a few songs for the students, including the familiar theme song to ‘Star Wars’ which the students immediately recognized. He also introduced the origins of the bagpipes during his presentation, and shared his own personal story about how he began playing the instrument, as well as elucidating on certain elements of Scottish Culture, including specific items of clothing, such as the Kilt and the Sporran. Students were also given the opportunity to ask questions, and to connect to his social accounts in order to follow along on Jennings’ journey.

Visiting Alumni provide students with many benefits, including offering workshops and showing the school community the wide range of career paths and interests that are possible as the result of a YCIS education.
