    • Both YCIS Shanghai’s Puxi and Pudong Secondary campuses recently celebrated the incredible ‘YCIS Class of 2018’ as they received their diplomas at graduation ceremonies at the school’s Gubei and Century Park campuses before heading off to continue their education at a number of prestigious institutions around the world.

At the Gubei Campus, the graduates received their graduation certificates from the campus Co-Principals, Dr Richard Swann and Ms Isabel Xu. Both Co-Principals gave inspiring advice to the graduates. The class selected Ms Kelly Scotti, Secondary Head of English, as their keynote speaker. Ms Scotti gave a motivational speech that garnered a wonderful reaction from the crowd. Graduating student Ziyou was the chosen student speaker, and she shared hilarious and emotional moments that she, her classmates, and teachers had shared during their time together.

At the Century Park Campus, the ceremony was held in the school’s beautiful theatre, where students were introduced by their University Guidance Officer, Mr Tim Gartz, and they received their graduation certificates from Co-Principals, Mr Fred Runkel and Ms Jane Xie. Ms Glenda Perks, Head of Department English and EAL, was the keynote speaker at the Pudong event and she passed along words of wisdom to the students as they went out into the world. Two students from the graduating class who attended YCIS Pudong for many years, Anna and Elizabeth, gave a heartfelt speech looking back on the time they and their classmates had spent at the school.

The YCIS Shanghai Class of 2018 is going on to matriculate at leading universities worldwide, including the University of Cambridge, New York University, Penn State University, Berklee College of Music, UCLA, Purdue University, McGill University, University College London, and University of Hong Kong, and they will join other distinguished YCIS alumni around the globe.

Congratulations and the very best wishes to the YCIS Class of 2018 as they head off to make their mark on the world!
