    • Just before the school year came to a close, Secondary students at the Gubei Campus put on a fantastic rendition of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale, Alice in Wonderland, over two evenings.

The performances commenced at the entrance to the campus, where attendees were invited download an APP on their phones which created an augmented reality experience as they ascended up the stairway to the hall. The stairwell was filled with surprises including scannable items which came to life featuring characters from the show, as well as tasty treats and drinks to try along the way.

During the show itself, the audience tumbled down the rabbit hole with Alice, as the Secondary Performing Arts department helped students transform into characters including the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit, and Alice herself. The show featured dazzling sets, incredible costumes, wonderful music, and amazing performances from the cast.

Theatre helps students gain confidence and heightens their creativity. YCIS Shanghai truly values the benefits of the arts and congratulates the entire cast, crew, and faculty on the incredible production, and appreciates all of the hard work and preparation that went into the show.

Stay tuned to learn what is in store from these talented thespians and our Performing Arts department in the 2018-19 school year, and in the interim, for more about the Secondary Programme at YCIS Shanghai, please click here.
