    • On Wednesday, December 2, YCIS Puxi celebrated the opening of its third annual schoolwide photo exhibition. This year’s theme, ‘Our Community: Inside and Out,’ was an artistic reflection on the trying times we are currently living in and a statement about our resilience as a community.

The show will be on display at the Gubei Civic Center (99 East Fugui Road) until December 11, so there’s still time to enjoy the excellent photography works.

There were 59 participants. The photography ranged from summer travels and aspects of everyday life to moments of hidden joy. This year’s student winners were Brian (Year 3), Maxwell (Year 5), Cecilia (Year 7), and Mason (Year 8). Parent and staff winners were Ms Fabiola Liacy, Mr Lindsay Pahl, and Ms Gemma Wang.

“I love photography because it’s one of the easiest ways to step into someone else’s aesthetic view of the world. Beautiful moments that might have easily passed us by are frozen in time by the camera holder. It truly communicates how the visual language can often transcend the verbal one.” — Mr Jason Schell, YCIS Puxi Secondary Head of Art

Congratulations to all who took part!
