    YCIS Shanghai Students Excel in Football and Swimming

    • YCIS Shanghai students have once again made their mark on the field and in the pool, achieving remarkable results in football and swimming.

       

      Following their impressive victories in football last week, the YCIS Shanghai football teams have delivered yet another powerful performance at the SISAC tournament this week.

       

      On Tuesday, 14th March, the YCIS Puxi D1 Girls' Football team put on a dominating performance against Dulwich, scoring 11 goals and not conceding any.

       

      The YCIS Puxi D1 Boys' Football team also demonstrated their prowess on the pitch, securing a massive 10-0 victory against Dulwich.

       

      Meanwhile, the YCIS Pudong D2 Boys' Football team showcased their talent and teamwork by defeating the Shanghai American School (SAS) boys with an impressive score of 8-0. The teams’ impressive performance was a testament to their hard work and dedication.

       

      On Saturday, 11th March, 40 YCIS Shanghai students took part in the Shanghai Swim League (SSL) Round 4, a swimming competition among international schools. The event saw the participation of over 1000 students from 24 international schools, making it a highly competitive affair.

       

      YCIS students put up a remarkable performance in the various categories. The YCIS Puxi Boys' team emerged as the standout performers, achieving 2nd place in the Boys 9-10 200 Metre Freestyle Relay out of 22 school teams. They outperformed some of the best schools in the competition, including SAS Pudong, Dulwich Suzhou, Concordia, SCIS Hongqiao, SMIC, Wellington, Harrow, and BISS Puxi. YCIS Puxi also achieved 3rd place in the Boys 9-10 200 Metre Medley Relay, beating 18 other school teams.

       

      For individual events, Benjamin (Y7) from YCIS Puxi achieved an impressive 2nd place in the Boys 11-12 50 Metre Backstroke, out of a total of 66 swimmers. Edwin (Y6) from YCIS Puxi also achieved a commendable 3rd place in the Boys 9-10 50 Metre Freestyle, out of 118 swimmers. Jun Kai (Y10) from YCIS Pudong secured 3rd place in the Boys 13-14 50 Metre Breaststroke, out of 49 swimmers.
