As part of YCIS’s World Classroom programme, I travelled to Yellowstone National Park and other sites in Montana in the US. Here is an account of some of my experiences from the trip:

I had been looking forward to this trip for months. I wanted to see and explore the beautiful scenery, and develop my self-confidence and my independence. These are the main reasons why students participate in a World Classroom trip at YCIS. The activities I was most excited about were horseback riding and hiking.

Our first stop was a computer museum where we learned about different changes in computer science throughout the years - it was amazing and we learned a lot. We then visited a dinosaur museum which was also really cool, and we saw a lot of different parts of the dinosaurs and learned their names. I am really interested in dinosaurs and I would love to visit the museum again one day.

We then went to visit Montana State University, an engineering college where we saw some different aspects of the university. I am now planning to go to the US for university since I know more about the experience!

The next day we went horseback riding. I was a little scared at first, because the horses were huge. I did not have much experience riding and controlling the horse myself and this was challenging, but so much fun! As we rode the horses and followed the coaches it become easier and easier. When we finally got to the end of the trip, I didn’t want to get off.

One day we went hiking for several hours. We saw some really interesting things and some beautiful places. The sky was really blue, the clouds were white, the plants were green – it was just lovely. I took a lot of pictures, and I felt sure my parents would love this place after they saw my pictures!

We also went river rafting. The whole thing was a great adventure with a lot of huge rapids and white water splashing all over us. We got to see some interesting animals, too, and it was so cool!

Over the course of the trip, we did and saw so much! What a fabulous trip we had, all thanks to the YCIS World Classroom programme!
