With the excitement of Chinese New Year in the air, YCIS Shanghai Regency Park Primary students took the stage to help welcome in the Year of the Snake.

Despite cold weather outside, the indoor performing hall had a warm, celebratory feel that seemed to increase with every performance. Students demonstrated challenging kung fu moves, traditional Chinese dance routines, and sang beautiful Chinese songs. The costumes were festive, and the performances were highly entertaining.

Throughout the evening, students were able to take their families around the school to sample other aspects of Chinese culture, as well, in the form of traditional sweet treats, crafts provided by local vendors, and a wide variety of traditional Chinese games. A wonderful start to the new year ahead!
