    • The annual Primary Charity Week is a great opportunity for students, their families, and staff to show support for philanthropic efforts, all while having fun! This year’s Primary Charity Week at the Regency Park and Century Park campuses managed to raise a total of RMB 74,701 for four charities, including YCIS’s Seeds of Hope charity, Heart to Heart, Shanghai Healing Home, and the WILL Foundation.

Every day during the week students could make a small donation in order to join in optional fun and charitable activities on campus. Throughout the week, students participated in activities such as making and wearing friendship bracelets with their friends, a Basket Raffle filled with delicious treats and fun goodies, a Games Day, and the highly-anticipated “Kids’ Night In,” an evening of entertainment on campus for students that included sports, crafts, pizza, and a dance.

Lynn Xie, a YCIS EAL Teacher and Chair of the Charity Fundraising Committee, helped organise the Primary Charity Week. Ms Xie shared that, “At YCIS, we believe that Charity Week affords us an opportunity to instill valuable life lessons in our students. This happens in partnership with our school and our families, and we certainly appreciate the amazing support we get from their efforts!”

The annual Charity Week is just one of many events at YCIS guided by the school’s motto, which states that Yew Chung will “align with love and charity,” and by the school’s unique Character Education programme.
