    • Art students at YCIS Shanghai’s Gubei Campus recently showcased their creativity at the annual IGCSE Fashion Show.

The evening featured artistic fashion designs created by Year 10 students based on their research of various artists, and presented in their own creative way as a piece of wearable art. Each student researched and explored the artworks of an artist, and designed a piece of fashion that was representative of their study. Even more impressive was that each design was constructed entirely out of paper!

As part of the evening’s entertainment, the Performing Arts Department collaborated with the fashion designers, and a Year 10 Drama class wove an interesting still-motion performance as a backdrop throughout the entire fashion show. The chic and creative event truly earned the applause and praise of their fellow students, art teachers, and parents who were in attendance.

In addition to highlighting student creativity, the art fashion show also provided a means to support a worthy cause. A grand total of RMB 3505 generated from ticket sales went to support the school’s charity, Seeds of Hope, demonstrating that supporting charity is always fashionable for YCIS students!
