    Chinese Writing Competition Winners at YCIS

    • Last month, YCIS Shanghai students participated in the International Students’ Chinese Writing Competition organised by the Pudong New Area Education Committee. The competition was open to all international students attending schools in Pudong (in Shanghai) between the ages of 7 and 17. This year’s competition theme was “…In My Eyes”, and students had the opportunity to submit a photograph along with their essay to match the topic.


      Many Secondary students from the Century Park Campus participated in the competition, using the Chinese writing skills that they had learnt and developed in class. At the awards ceremony held at the end of May, a number of YCIS students received recognition and top honours for their submissions, including:


      First Prize:

      • Tan Shu, Year 8

      Second Prize:

      • Xing Ye, Year 7
      • Yue, Year 7
      • Constantine, Year 8
      • Mary, Year 9

      Third Prize:

      • Hannah, Year 7
      • Isabella, Year 8
      • Valerie, Year 9
