Students at YCIS Century Park Campus are in full swing planning a charity event to raise funds for cancer research and treatment.
Inspired by the “Terry Fox Run”, Year 12 students, Lorenzo and Libby, have been organising the details for this year’s third annual Make a Difference (MAD) Run. Participants are able to run, walk, rollerblade, skateboard, and more in order to complete the 5km circuit “fun run”.
On the day of the event, Students, families, staff, and friends will gather on the field before the run, warming up and enjoying the warm, community spirit. The run then begins at 10:30 a.m and will be followed by live music, raffles, food, and many activities for attendees of all ages, with each registered participant receiving a commemorative YCIS MAD Run T-Shirt.
In addition to developing students’ academic abilities and building a range of skill sets, YCIS also incorporates a strong emphasis on character education throughout a student’s tenure, creating intelligent, caring members of society who are sensitive to the needs of those within their immediate community, as well as globally.
