On March 9, the gym and classrooms of the YCIS Shanghai Pudong (Century Park Campus) were alive with ambition and aspiration as the YCIS Shanghai Spring University Fair welcomed over 90 prestigious universities from around the globe. This vibrant event attracted more than 400 attendees, including students and parents from both YCIS and YWIES, as well as members of the greater community.
The fair was a joint organisation by all YCIS and YWIES schools in Shanghai and Tongxiang, to create an incredible educational and networking opportunity for families. Among the esteemed institutions represented were the University of Hong Kong, HKUST, NTU, Fudan Univeristy, Tongji University, USC, University of Rochester, Durham University, University of Bath, University Arts London, and EHL—each bringing unique perspectives on higher education and global opportunities. The diverse array of universities provided a rich tapestry of choices for students contemplating their futures.
The fair also highlighted YCIS's strong global network, with many universities recognising the school's rigorous academic programs and emphasis on holistic development. Representatives from various universities acknowledged that YCIS students consistently stand out in the application process, thanks to the school's comprehensive guidance and internationally recognised curriculum.
A highlight of the event was the participation of our very own Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE). For students aspiring to pursue careers in education, this was an exceptional opportunity to learn about the tailored programs and pathways offered by YCCECE. Notably, YCCECE recently achieved institutional accreditation for their Postgraduate programmes, making them the first private institution in Hong Kong to offer both a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and a Master's Degree in Education.
YCIS Shanghai has long been recognised by top universities around the world. Each year, our students receive offers from some of the most prestigious institutions globally. This year has been particularly rewarding, with offers from renowned universities such as the University of Oxford, New York University, Emory University, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Hong Kong, and Berklee College of Music. We are proud of our students’ achievements and will be sharing more exciting university offers in the coming week—stay tuned!
In addition to the university booths, attendees were treated to a series of engaging workshops designed to equip them with essential skills for the application process. Topics ranged from exploring educational pathways in Australia to crafting effective personal statements for UK universities using AI tools. There were also sessions focused on creating compelling art portfolios—an invaluable resource for aspiring artists looking to make their mark.
Beyond being an information hub, the fair served as a space for meaningful engagement. Students had the chance to connect directly with university representatives, gaining firsthand knowledge about academic programs, campus life, and application expectations. The event also fostered a sense of community among families eager to support their children’s academic journeys, with discussions about aspirations and future plans filling the air.
